Fear of poverty  is my means of inspiration – Otunba Onigegewura Kessynton

Otunba Olusola Akanni Kessynton known as Onigegewura is a foremost and distinctive educationist. He is also a poetry writer. He was born in the family of late Pa Benjamin Kessynton and Mrs. Comfort Kessynton.

 He was born in a Christian home with his siblings but being the second son  of the family. Otunba Kessynton started with humble beginning being from Christian background.

According to Otunba Kessynton, when he was talking to the publisher of CITY BELL newspaper RALPH AKINDELE, he said, his parents are from ijeda-ijesa in Osun state , but resided in another state in order to meet the family responsibilities.

He also said, that looking back at his days as a young and brilliant  lad, the moral standard of his days then cannot be compare to this modern generation ways of living

.

He said that as a young lad, entertainment has been part and parcel of his life since he was at the age of seven (7), at the time he was in primary school. He was a drummer and a member of dramatic and cultural group from his secondary school days to tertiary institution days and till today some of his colleagues call him AYAN (Drummer boy).

He spoke about his regret with Prince Ralph Akindele, the publisher of CITY BELL. He said one of his regret in life is that he was unable to join the legend of juju music, king Sunny Ade’s band in 1984 because his father wanted him to be better than him in education. Then, parents see entertainers  as jobless and useless entity.

He also spoke about Layi Adis, the great juju musician based in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state as a senior in legend Chief Ebenezer Obey Band.

When asked how he unwinds, he said apart from being with his family weekend after work from Monday to Friday. He hangs out with his friends when there is no occasion for him. He is a master of ceremony to the core. With him as a master of ceremony in your occasion, there is no dull moment.

Otunba Kessynton is a man of vision despite his age and educational statures. He plans to fulfill himself as a retiree to own his own private radio station in the heart of Lagos and still be a world class master of ceremony because that is where he derive pleasure.

When asked about the future of education in Nigeria. He said; the education system of Nigeria lies in the hand of government because they are the policy maker. He also advised the youths not to joke with education because education is the key to knowledge. He also advised the youths to always believe in themselves and develop their potentials when they are still young. Otunba Kessynton is a man with honour and dignity. He is blessed with God fearing wife and children.
